Dear Neighbors,
On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, the Zeitgeist Half Marathon will pass through your neighborhood. The following is a summary of the affects on various roads.
Hill Road Parkway
Zeitgeist will start at 10 a.m. in the Optimist Youth Sports Complex on Hill Road Parkway. Traffic on Hill Road Parkway will be stopped at 10 a.m. for approximately 5 minutes while athletes cross the road. Traffic will again be periodically stopped on Hill Road Parkway from approximately 11:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. allowing athletes to re-enter the park.
Hill Road – Duncan Lane to Seamans Gulch
Athletes will proceed onto Duncan Lane and old Hill Road traveling east to Seamans Gulch from 10 a.m. to approximately 10:20 a.m. The road will remain open so please enter the roadway slowly and drive with caution. Athletes will return to the park on this road from approximately 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Seamans Gulch Road
The northbound lane of Seamans Gulch will be closed from Hill Road to Hidden Springs from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The northbound lane designated for landfill traffic will remain open. The southbound lane will remain open. The alternate route with the least amount of pedestrian traffic is Highway 55 to Dry Creek Road and east to Hidden Springs. Please avoid using Pierce Park Road, as athletes will be traveling on Pierce Park and Cartwright Roads.
Hidden Springs
Athletes will enter Hidden Springs community on Hidden Springs Drive, Turn right immediately past the fire station on an unnamed paved road, left on Dechambeau Way, left on Hidden Springs Drive, right on Second Avenue, left on McGee Street, right on First Avenue, right on Farm Market Road, and right onto Dry Creek Road. There will be an aid station on Hidden Springs Drive and slight congestion in the area.
Dry Creek Road, Cartwright Road and Pierce Park Road
From Hidden Springs, athletes will proceed southeast on Dry Creek Road and Cartwright Road, turning onto Pierce Park Road. These roads will remain open. There will be an aid station on Dry Creek Road and two aid stations on Pierce Park Road. Please drive with extreme caution.
Hill Road from Pierce Park Road to Gary Lane
Athletes will turn right onto Hill Road and proceed west to Gary Lane and old Hill Road. Athletes are directed to stay on the right side of the road. Please use extreme caution when pulling out of your driveway.
Volunteers along the entire course will assist in making the event safe and as least intrusive as possible for residents living on the course. Please drive extra carefully that day.
